Art can tell the stories that words sometimes cannot.

This fall, Texas Valor Project is inviting artists of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to create an original work inspired by the journey of healing after traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Your art can be raw or hopeful, personal or abstract. It might represent resilience, transformation, family support, a breakthrough, or simply what healing means to you.

There is no wrong way to tell the story.

EVERYONE IS INVITED TO CREATE

Professional artist or first-time creator. Student or teacher. Survivor, caregiver, family member, veteran, first responder, or supporter.

​

Your voice matters.

​

We welcome painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, ceramics, collage, poetry, and other creative mediums.

​

YOUR ART. YOUR STORY. YOUR IMPACT.

Accepted artwork will be displayed at a community exhibition in October, where visitors will have the opportunity to view the collection and vote for their favorite.

The winning piece will receive a place of honor at a Texas Valor Project treatment facility.

​

There, it will serve as a lasting reminder of hope, resilience, and the power of healing.

OCTOBER 1: Accepted artwork must be delivered to Texas Valor Project

OCTOBER 24: Texas Valor Project Boots & Brains Gala

HOW TO ENTER

​

Submit your entry by September 30, 2026.

Please include:

• Your name and contact information

• Artwork medium

• A brief description of your piece and the story behind it

• At least 2 clear photos of your artwork

• Whether you would like to donate your piece to the Boots & Brains Gala auction if it is not selected as the winner

• Agreement to the contest rules

CREATE AN EVEN BIGGER IMPACT

Artists whose pieces are not selected as the community winner may choose to donate their artwork for auction at the Boots & Brains Gala on October 24, 2026.

Auction proceeds directly support Texas Valor Project’s mission and the veterans, first responders, and families we serve.

Your creativity can raise awareness. Inspire hope. And help someone heal.

CONTEST RULES

​

Original Work Only
All artwork must be original. Work based on another artist’s material or created using artificial intelligence (AI) is not eligible.

​

Family Friendly
Artwork must be appropriate for a family-friendly community exhibition.

​

Delivery & Pickup
Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered and picked up in person. Shipping is not available.

​

Artwork Labeling
Accepted pieces must include the artist’s name, title, size, and medium on the back. Pieces not available for auction should be marked NFA — Not For Auction.

​

Liability
Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. Texas Valor Project will take reasonable care of all artwork but cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage.

​

Photography & Promotion
By entering, artists give Texas Valor Project permission to photograph and share their submitted artwork for contest publicity and promotion.
